While working with Gensler in New York City, Mark was instrumental in the design and documentation of a renovation of the lobby and arcade at 26 Washington Street at the southern tip of Manhattan. In addition to the design and documentation, Mark saw the project through construction to substantial completion. The project required an updated material palette and a new configuration to open up the space for better circulation through the entrance sequence, and a layout that is flexible for future security applications.

The space was lined with mirrored and textured laminated glass panels to provide an expansive effect throughout the entire space. The space was then layered to create a clear progression of security through the lobby. In order to maintain an open space while also blocking visual access to the operations behind the security desk, a full height glass partition with a gradated dot pattern up to eye height was placed between the elevator bank and the security desk.
